PHOENIX (AP) — The series between National League playoff hopefuls Atlanta and Arizona has been a wild ride http://www.piratesfanproshop.com/authentic-willie-stargell-jersey , and Saturday night’s ending might have topped them all.Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson made a diving stop on the outfield grass and cut down Nick Ahmed at home plate for the final out to preserve Atlanta’s 5-4 victory in 10 innings.“He just gave every last bit of energy he had and obviously won the game for us,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said.Atlanta got two runs in the top of the 10th to go up 5-3. Freddie Freeman scored on first baseman Paul Goldschmidt’s throwing error, and Ender Inciarte added an RBI triple. In the bottom of the inning, with runners at second and third, A.J. Pollock grounded a two-out single up the middle. Steven Souza Jr. scored from third, but Ahmed tried to come around from second and was thrown out by Swanson to end the game.“A.J. hit the ball and I was going hard and T.P. (third base coach Tony Perezchica) was waving me and it was close,” Ahmed said. “I didn’t get there.”Swanson said he figured Ahmed would try to score because he would have done the same thing.“That is just kind of how I would play it offensively. He is scoring no matter what,” Swanson said. “I don’t think anyone really anticipated that I would be able to catch it and be able to make a throw like that. Honestly, it was the right play on both sides.”Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said he didn’t have “a perfect snapshot” of the play but thought it might have been better to hold up at third and give the next batter a chance.“I feel like there’s certain times when you take a little bit of risk and there’s other times you don’t,” he said. “That may not have been the best time to take that type of risk.”The victory boosted Atlanta’s lead in the NL East to 3½ games over Philadelphia. Arizona fell 2 1/2 games behind first-place Colorado in the NL West.Neither team led by more than one run until the 10th.Freeman drew a leadoff walk from Andrew Chafin (1-5), and Nick Markakis hit a slow roller to first. Goldschmidt tossed the ball wide of the bag and into the Braves dugout, one of four Arizona errors.Souza robbed Kurt Suzuki of at least a double with a leaping grab at the right-field fence Barry Bonds Jersey , but Inciarte followed with a triple that made it 5-3.Chad Sabotka (1-0) got the final out in the ninth for his first major league win. With some difficulty, A.J. Minter picked up his 13th save in 15 tries. Both teams threatened in the ninth. Swanson tripled off Yoshihisa Hirano with one out but was stranded when pinch-hitter Lucas Duda struck out and, after Ronald Acuna Jr. was intentionally walked, Johan Camargo grounded out.Arizona, with the help of a throwing error by Camargo at third, loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the ninth before Daniel Descalso lined out to center.Suzuki put the Braves up 3-2 with a two-out solo home run off Jake Diekman in the eighth, but Arizona answered in its half of the inning.Descalso lined a two-out double off the center-field wall against Dan Winkler to score David Peralta from first and tie it at 3.There were four errors in the first two innings, three by Arizona, resulting in a 2-2 deadlock.Acuna doubled on the game’s first pitch and scored when Peralta bobbled Camargo’s single to left field. Markakis’ sacrifice fly made it 2-0.The Diamondbacks got an unearned run in the first when Pollock came home from first on Goldschmidt’s foul pop to the railing beyond first base. Freeman’s throw home came in plenty of time, but Suzuki dropped it.Arizona tied it 2-all in the second when pitcher Clay Buchholz’s two-out double to left-center scored Souza from first. It was the first RBI and extra-base hit in 45 career at-bats for Buchholz.MISTAKESThe Diamondbacks, one of the best defensive teams in baseball, committed four errors.“The errors we made today weren’t typical of what we do here every single day http://www.piratesfanproshop.com/authentic-roberto-clemente-jersey ,” Lovullo said, “so I just think at times we try to make things happen and we force things and maybe press a play or two and will it to happen, and it doesn’t happen.”TRAINER’S ROOMBraves: RHPs Jose Ramirez and Arodys Vizcaino made rehab appearances for Class A Rome in a playoff game Friday. Ramirez allowed four runs and four hits while getting just one out. Vizcaino tossed a scoreless ninth in a 6-0 loss to Lexington that eliminated Rome.UP NEXTArizona sends left-hander Robbie Ray to the mound, seeking a split of the four-game series. Atlanta counters with Touki Toussaint. NEW YORK (AP) — Baseball players’ union officials met last month with management of the four teams accused in a grievance of improper spending of revenue-sharing money, people familiar with the grievance process told The Associated Press.Players’ association general counsel Ian Penny and Rick Shapiro, senior adviser to union head Tony Clark, were among the union executives who traveled to meet separately with officials of the Miami Marlins, Oakland Athletics, Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays, the people said, speaking to the AP on condition of anonymity Tuesday because no announcements were authorized. An economist also was among the union officials who attended. At the time the grievance was filed in February, MLB denied any inappropriate use of revenue-sharing money Kent Tekulve Jersey , as did Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay. Oakland said it supported MLB’s statement, and new Marlins CEO Derek Jeter defended his team’s decision to rebuild and go young.Patrick Houlihan, Major League Baseball’s senior vice president and deputy general counsel for labor relations, was at the four sessions along with MLB chief financial officer Bob Starkey and additional staff from the commissioner’s office, the people said.Teams made presentations and the union officials asked questions. The next step is unclear; a hearing before arbitrator Mark Irvings has not been scheduled. The four clubs have among the five lowest payrolls in the major leagues and only the Athletics appear headed to the postseason.Tampa Bay was at a major league low $70.5 million for its 40-man roster, according to Aug. 31 calculations by MLB, just below the Chicago White Sox at $71.3 million. Oakland was at $77.8 million, Miami at $89.5 million and Pittsburgh at $89.8 million. All other teams are at more than $99 million.Oakland will be disqualified from receiving revenue-sharing money starting with the offseason after the 2020 season, according to baseball’s labor contract.Clark has repeatedly declined comment on the grievance, which was filed after an unusually large percentage of free agents remained unsigned when spring training started.

It seems like only yesterday that the Denver Broncos were beginning their 2018 campaign. They say time flies by when you are having fun but there hasn’t been much cause for celebration across Broncos Country this year. After enduring a tumultuous season the Broncos hosted the Los Angeles Chargers for their last game. To nobody’s surprise the Broncos wound up on the losing end by a final score of 23-9 and finish the season with a 6-10 record.1. One play of the game epitomizes the Broncos’ 2018 seasonOver the course of the season it has been extraordinarily difficult to find positive things to write about in respect to the Broncos. I’m generally a very optimistic person but at the same time an absolute realist. Outside a few highlight individual performances the team has been an absolute dumpster fire. If there was one play all season long that epitomizes the Broncos’ woeful 2018 campaign — the below clip would be it.A two-point conversion attempt winding up as an interception and two points for the Chargers. It’s symbolic of a narrative I started up a long time ago which is that the Broncos’ are their own worst enemy. Not only that http://www.authenticsdenverbroncos.com/cheap-jake-butt-jersey , it goes to show that Case Keenum was a tremendously poor investment and that the franchise is going absolutely nowhere with him at the helm. Alas, the Broncos might be stuck with him next season unless John Elway can pull a rabbit out of the hat and find themselves a franchise quarterback in the upcoming draft.2. The Broncos have secured a top ten draft selectionThe draft fans of Mile High Report are going to love this quick tidbit. With their loss to the Chargers and several other teams helping them out earlier today, the Broncos have secured the tenth selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. The strength of schedule between the Broncos and the Buffalo Bills is extremely close — so once all the games are finalized there is a small chance that Denver could move to the ninth slot. The Broncos have additional selections in the fourth, fifth and seventh rounds which provide them with some of the most draft capital of any team in the league. The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft is January 14. Once that happens we will have a better idea of who is eligible and what positions are stacked with talent. Hopefully the Broncos can repeat what they did last April and have another great draft class. In the coming weeks expect a lot more draft content to be rolling live here at Mile High Report. Mock drafts, scouting reports and much more is on the horizon folks so get ready!3. Garret Bolles’ continues to be a major problem at offensive tackleIn the 2017 NFL Draft the Denver Broncos selected an inexperienced but high-ceiling player in Garret Bolles out of the University of Utah. It wasn’t a pick I was overly fond up, but since his selection I along with many others have hoped he could become a franchise caliber left tackle. In his rookie season he was one of the most penalized offensive lineman in the National Football League. It was a rough year but many were willing to give him a pass all things considered. That being said, there was no question Bolles had to perform better in his second season. Unfortunately, the progression many were looking forward to seeing hasn’t transpired. His penchant for penalties is still a major problem for the Broncos’ offense. Whether it is false starts or holds Youth Todd Davis Jersey , Bolles’ inability to play disciplined football has cost the team dearly for the past two years. When you factor in his sub-par play along with the lack of long-term quality depth the team lacks at the position — offensive tackle should be an early priority for the Broncos in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Broncos likely won’t have a shot at top collegiate tackle Jonah Williams unless they were to trade up. That means you will want to get to know prospects such as Greg Little, David Edwards, Jawaan Taylor, Dalton Risner or Yodny Cajuste — all of whom are likely Top 50 selections.4. Royce Freeman featured heavily with Phillip Lindsay sidelinedWith Phillip Lindsay sidelined with a wrist injury the Broncos’ offense featured a heavy dose of Royce Freeman against the Chargers. He had 25 total touches for 103 yards. There is no doubt that Lindsay is the Broncos’ main back when he returns next season but Freeman has proven himself to be a quality second option. The Broncos’ offense has a solid foundation for the future with Freeman, Lindsay as well as Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton, but another receiving threat in addition to a legitimate tight end could help propel the team’s offense to greater heights in 2019. A quarterback and a competent offensive coordinator would help too.5. Goodbye Vance Joseph! If today’s sloppy football performance on top of the ineptitude he has displayed since taking the reins of the franchise doesn’t get him fired I would be absolutely stunned. If he is fired, the Broncos will be on their fourth head coach search since Elway has taken over the football operations for the team. So I ask you this Broncos Country, who would you like to see as Denver’s next head coach? It’s been an awful season to endure Youth Domata Peko Jersey , but feel free to let it all out in the comments section. Talk about the draft, talk about a new head coach, share your plans for the future because that begins now. The Steelers had four scoring chances on their first four drives. They scored only 10 points, with the touchdown coming on a trick play on the final play of the first half.Offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva caught a 2-yard pass from kicker Chris Boswell as time expired in the first half to tie the Broncos 10-10.Villanueva became the first Steelers offensive lineman to catch a touchdown pass since Ray Pinney in 1983, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Still, Pittsburgh should have the lead. The Steelers have run 41 plays for 251 yards.Pittsburgh reached the Denver 30 on their first drive, going 52 yards before stalling. But Justin Simmons does what Justin Simmons does: He blocked a Boswell 48-yard field goal attempt in the first quarter. Simmons leaped over long snapper Kameron Canaday to prevent the field goal. Simmons did the same thing against Justin Tucker and the Ravens earlier this season. The Steelers drove 74 yards on their second possession and ended up 1 yard short as Xavier Grimble fumbled out of the end zone on a hit by Will Parks. The touchback gave Denver possession.Pittsburgh went 56 yards to the Denver 23 on its next drive before settling for a 41-yard Boswell field goal.On their final drive of the first half, the Steelers rolled down the field before Vance McDonald dropped a touchdown pass to set up a fourth-and-goal from the 2. Instead White Chris Harris Jr Jersey , of settling for another field goal, though, the Steelers called for the trick play. The Broncos scored their touchdown on a 10-yard pass from Case Keenum to Matt LaCosse.Ben Roethlisberger is 25-of-31 for 221 yards, the most completions by a Pittsburgh quarterback in a regular-season game since at least 1960.

Things got so bad at Baltimore for the Denver Broncos that left tackle Garett Bolles had more tackles than Von Miller.Three times Womens Royce Freeman Jersey , Bolles was beaten by Terrell Suggs and rather than give up another sack, he simply tackled the Ravens' ageless pass rusher who still managed 1陆 sacks, a tackle for loss and a forced fumble in a 27-14 win over the Broncos (2-1).Bolles was whistled for two costly holding penalties, one erasing a 39-yard catch by Demaryius Thomas and another at the Baltimore 5-yard line that preceded Case Keenum's fifth interception so far.Miller was held in check with just two tackles. After declaring on Friday that "last year's team is dead and gone," coach Vance Joseph's remodeled bunch hit the road for the first time and promptly bared many of those same flaws that led to their downfall in 2017.Poor protection.Predictable defense.Dubious decisions.Bad discipline. The Broncos' 13 penalties marked the most by Denver since Week 8 at Philadelphia last season and their 120 yards were the most in 41 games, since a Week 15 loss at Pittsburgh in 2015."After watching the film two or three times, it was a lot of self-inflicted wounds," Joseph said Monday, noting that he didn't have a problem with the calls that included an ejection of rookie running back Phillip Lindsay for throwing a punch in the pile."I couldn't see if he threw a punch or not," Joseph said. "But I saw him dive into the pile, which is illegal."Joseph said the Broncos, who host unbeaten Kansas City (3-0) next Monday night, "have to own the penalties."That includes the one that referee Ronald Torbert inadvertently blamed on Broncos tackle Billy Turner — who wasn't even on the field — for a block-in-the-back foul that negated Chris Harris Jr.'s TD return of a blocked field goal try.The foul was actually on nose tackle Domata Peko some 20 yards behind Harris."I've got to be smarter. Next time that happens, just don't even run, just stop and let them go," Peko said. "But I was just hustling, doing what I'm taught to do and finishing the play, running down and just trying to get a block, man."But it seems like the way the league is going now you can't really hit people the way you want to anymore, and so I've just got to be smarter."Even though it was on the wrong player, Joseph said, "it was a good call."What wasn't, by his own admission, was Joseph's decision to burn two timeouts late in the first half so Denver could get the ball back at their 15 with under a minute left in a steady rain.Another three-and-out by the Broncos and another short punt by Marquette King set up the Ravens for a last-second field goal and a 20-14 halftime lead."That's totally on me," Joseph said.A week after criticizing Joe Woods' defensive game plan for having his cornerbacks give too much cushion to Oakland's receivers, Joseph watched his defense do the very same thing at Baltimore."We stopped the run again. They averaged 2.8 yards a carry, but the passing game obviously gave us problems http://www.denverbroncosteamonline.com/domata-peko-jersey ," Joseph said. "We've got to challenge more at the corner position and make more plays. If teams want to throw the ball that quick, we have to play closer in coverage and make some plays early. That way our pass rush can get there."But it's a blueprint on tape right now the last three weeks: throw it quick, challenge the DBs and keep Von Miller and (first-round draft pick Bradley) Chubb at bay by throwing it quick."A frustrated Harris said Denver's defense needs to better camouflage its intentions so quarterbacks like Joe Flacco can't pick them apart: "We've got to disguise better as a team. Try to confuse them. Try not to give them easy looks."Joseph concurred, saying, "We can help those guys with more looks and more coverage packages."Despite a blocked punt and a blocked field goal, the special teams didn't escape Joseph's aggravation."As a punt unit we were not very good," Joseph said. "We gave them the ball twice at midfield. We gave them the ball once after a return and a sideline penalty on (rookie cornerback) Isaac Yiadom, who wasn't even in the game."Yiadom would soon go in, replacing Tramaine Brock (groin), who was subbing for Adam Jones (thigh). Both are expected back at practice Wednesday, Joseph said.2018 NFL Picks: Week 1 Are you ready for some football? Wait, am I allowed to say that or does Hank Williams Jr have a trademark on it? Oh well, caution to the wind: Are you ready for some freaking football? The stench of 2017 is finally over with and this season we have renewed hope. Nothing can be worse than 2017, right? The Denver Broncos jettisoned every single quarterback they had on their roster and infused their football team with players who can actually play. You can see the philosophical shift in the way John Elway went about this draft. For all those who complain about his drafting ability, you can now eat some crow, because Elway finally got it right and has started cutting bait with his past mistakes. But enough about how awesome our team is, that will come later. It’s time for picking all the NFL games each and every week. As always, I’ll keep score to show both God and country that I’m better than you at something. **All times Mountain Standard Time aka God’s Time aka Broncos TimeLast Week: 0-0Overall: 0-0Atlanta Falcons (0-0) at Philadelphia Eagles (0-0) 6:20pm NBC TNFSo here we are, opening game of the season. Man, this thing should be EPIC with the defending champs taking on the Falcons. The only issue is that the defending champs still don’t have their starting QB and Nick Foles is about to show why TYPICALLY if you have to rely on your backup, you’re hosed. Foles is the guy in the NFL wishing and praying to be the backup and not starter because he’s Philly’s hero. He can do no wrong right now! His stock will never be higher than it is right now! And he has looked like trash in the preseason. Over/Under on how many quarters it takes for that awful fan base to forget what he did last year and start booing him? I’m putting it at 2.5. Prediction: Falcons 20, Eagles 13Tennessee Titans (0-0) at Miami Dolphins(0-0) 11:00am FOXAdam Gase is already on the hot seat in Miami and they haven’t inspired any hope so far. The Titans have a good running game and solid Tight End play. Conversely the Dolphins have a pretty bad run defense and are about on par with the Broncos in stopping Tight Ends, meaning they can’t. The only thing the Dolphins have going for them is that it might be 500 degrees (in the Caribbean Seas, with the hot mommies screaming ayy papi?) and the Titans melt into oblivion. We’ve seen it before. The altitude is the equalizer in Denver just as the heat and humidity can be the equalizer in Miami. Prediction: Titans 24, Dolphins 10San Francisco 49ers (0-0) at Minnesota Vikings (0-0) 11:00am FOXI can’t wait for this game. Why? Because of the Kirk (shall we call him Kurt) Cousins nonsense. He doesn’t deserve to be the (now) second highest paid QB in the NFL. He’s average and I personally love the fact that the Broncos passed on him. At least I don’t have to boycott this season because of him on our team. I hope against hope that Garoppolo is the truth for the Niners, at least for this week, because I want to know what that flushing must sound like to hear $100m go down the toilet with a single overrated player. Prediction: 49ers 23 Womens Justin Simmons Jersey , Vikings 20Houston Texans (0-0) at New England Patriots (0-0) 11:00am CBSOk seriously, I have to actually start picking home teams to win, right? I currently have 3 out of 3 home teams losing. Not this time! I said it last week that the only thing I want to see if it isn’t the Broncos winning the super bowl, is the Patriots losing the super bowl. I love how defeat looks on a bunch of cheating crybabies. DeShaun Watson is the real deal and could turn the tide on this game in a hurry. But dangit, I already picked 3 away teams. I can’t pick a fourth. Or should I change my Eagles pick? Prediction: Texans 23, Patriots 24Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-0) at New Orleans Saints (0-0) 11:00am FOXI just got in from New Orleans yesterday. Thought I might have to battle through a tropical storm, but it swerved at the last minute to save the city like they always do. But I digress, when you play in a dome, weather means nothing. The Saints are a team on the rise, and as long as they have Drew Brees back there slinging the rock, they always have a chance. Prediction: Bucs 16, Saints 27Jacksonville Jaguars (0-0) at New York Giants (0-0) 11:00am FOXWas last years Jaguars a mirage or an up and comer? I’m not sure the outcome of this game will determine that as the Giants straight stink. Way to go New York, you just paid a wide receiver an enormous sum of money. But the WR is only as good as the QB throwing him the ball, and last I checked, that QB wasn’t all that good anymore. What will that money get you? Did you even think of that when you signed him? Prediction: Jaguars 20, Giants 10Cincinnati Bengals (0-0) at Indianapolis Colts (0-0) 11:00am CBSWhat’s the honest to God health of Andrew Luck? That is the single determining factor of this game. The Bengals have a good defense, so if Luck is out, they win. But if Luck is actually healthy and is at least 70% of what we’ve seen of him in the past, then the Colts will squeak out a victory. This all comes down to health. Prediction: Bengals 20, Colts 24Pittsburgh Steelers (0-0) at Cleveland Browns (0-0) 11:00am CBSWell its official, Le’Veon Bell reported to the Steelers. So what are they gonna do with him? It would almost seem weird to have all their players open the season for them, wouldn’t it? I mean, someone is always out hurt or suspended it seems. I’m thinking this season will be no different. If Bell plays, he’ll likely pull a hammy for not being in game shape. But these are the Brown for heaven’s sake. And the Steelers own that division until otherwise noted. Prediction: Steelers 32, Browns 13Buffalo Bills (0-0) at Baltimore Ravens (0-0) 11:00am CBSLook, I’d like to get all philosophical on you and dive deep into this match-up, but honestly Authentic Case Keenum Jersey , if you’re a team (Buffalo) who brings in Paxton Lynch because you suck so bad at the QB position, you’re straight doomed! I get it, you have Josh “I suck against any decent competition, but oh dear God I can throw the ball over them mountains like Kyle Boller” Allen, but that doesn’t mean much. The Bills will challenge the Browns and Giants for being the worst team in the NFL this year. Prediction: Bills 3, Ravens 20Kansas City Chiefs (0-0) at Los Angeles Chargers (0-0) 2:05pm CBS“The Pass” is what the Chiefs call it. When your fans are so pathetically starved for any little crumb of success that they actually name a PRESEASON pass, well, you can pretty easily tell which direction this franchise is heading. It’s a joke, just like your quarterback. $wag Kelly is better than your starter, and he’s our backup! Chew on that for a second! And don’t get all ego inflated over there in San Diego ... I mean Los Angeles. When your home doesn’t even want you, that’s the same as your parents calling you ugly! Take this pity win for what it is, a pity win. But you know what they say about such things; A pity win is better than a loss, which is what the Chiefs will quickly find out. Prediction: Chiefs 13, Chargers 17 The pass. Please!!! What a joke!Washington Redskins (0-0) at Arizona Cardinals (0-0) 2:25pm FOXWho’s the starter for the Cardinals at QB? Is it really Sam Bradford? If it is, give me Alex freaking Smith. Then again, if it’s Josh Rosen, give me Alex freaking Smith. Look, Smith is out of the AFCWest so you all can admit that the last few years you’d have rather had him than anybody else we had on our team. He may not be flashy, but he’s consistently decent. And I’ll take that in this game over consistently Bradford. Prediction: Redskins 20, Cardinals 17Dallas Cowboys (0-0) at Carolina Panthers (0-0) 2:25pm FOXI think by default we root for Christian McCaffrey, right? Plus Dallas just feels dirty to root for in any game. Thankfully I think that no matter what you think, they (Dallas) won’t be any good this year. Bye bye goes Dez and Witten and their OL. I’m not sure what the Panthers will be this year, but I do believe they’ll be better than Dallas in this game. Prediction: Cowboys 17, Panthers 24Seattle Seahawks (0-1) at Denver Broncos (1-0) 2:25pm FOXSuck it Seahawks! Do I really need to say more? Paper tigers they are! The Broncos restocked the cupboard on offense and defense. Yes, I’m still worried about the Talib trade and I’ve made no bones about it in all of our collaborative articles this offseason and preseason. But this team has what it takes to take the NFL by storm. Remember, almost every single year we see a “worst to first” in the division. This is OUR YEAR to do it! Our offense when firing on even half their cylinders is the best in the division. When firing on all cylinders, we’re going to be a Top 5 unit in the entire NFL. And do I have to start naming names on defense? We still have Miller and Harris and Wolfe. We still have Roby and Ray and Marshall. We got Stewart and Roby and Chubb. We are super talented on defense as well as offense. Plus http://www.denverbroncosteamonline.com/brandon-marshall-jersey , unlike our division foes, we don’t call ordinary preseason plays “The Pass” because those are mundane and expected around here. We’re 19-0 until we aren’t. Prediction: Seahawks 13, Broncos 34Chicago Bears (0-0) at Green Bay Packers (0-0) 6:20pm NBC SNFWelcome to Chicago Khalil Mack! Have fun smashing Aaron Rodgers on Sunday Night! People have asked “does Rodgers’ new contract bring new pressure?” Hell no. Homie just got paid! He don’t care what anyone thinks. That’s the thing, you can only feel the pressure if you care about what others think, and Rodgers clearly has no time for that. He plays the game for him, not for you, and apparently that’s his personal recipe for success, because he’s been dominating since he took over. Like him or not, like his style or not, the dude can play. Prediction: Bears 12, Packers 27New York Jets (0-0) at Detroit Lions (0-0) 5:10pm ESPN MNF 1I think the best “non-Jets” thing that New York can do is start Darnold from day 1. He can play and he’ll take his lumps, but honestly, do you really think Josh McCown gives you all that much better of a chance at winning than Darnold? That’s a “vet” the Broncos could have brought in. Him and his 44% passing which even Tim Tebow calls piss poor. That’s the jackassery that talking heads threw out there all summer. They think vets are good simply because they played in games. Yeah, so did Ryan Leaf and Jabba the Russel. They’re vets who played. It doesn’t mean they’re any good, but they played. Anyways, we have a game to predict. If they start Darnold, they still lose, so you might as well start him. Prediction: Jets 13, Lions 17Los Angeles Rams (0-0) at Oakland Raiders (0-0) 8:20pm ESPN MNF 2This game is horrible for the NFL. Not because it won’t be a good game, and by good I mean the Rams curb stomping the Raiders by 40. What I mean is these ridiculous 2nd Monday Night Football games that nobody stays up to watch! Put this game on Sunday where it belongs and stop trying to be too cute. Back to the game, you have the Rams and my boy Talib against Jon “I’m gonna blow this team up and bring in geriatrics” Gruden. This is almost as easy to pick as the Steelers vs Browns. Prediction: Rams 40, Raiders 6

The Seattle Seahawks lost to the LA Chargers on Sunday Cheap Russell Wilson Jersey , dropping their record to 4-4. The .500 position at the midway point is not that bad and not unfamiliar territory for a team that has been there and rebounded to make the playoffs several times in the last six years, but it’s fair to say that the Seahawks are not quite competing for the Super Bowl at this moment. The New Orleans Saints and LA Rams are clearly better teams in the NFC. The Carolina Panthers and several other teams in the conference also present a much more appealing case. And we saw that the Chargers are a superior team to Seattle, and that was without Joey Bosa. That’s okay, it happens. It doesn’t mean the Seahawks should give up, and they certainly won’t. I absolutely have not. I still expect Seattle to make the playoffs. Yes, I do. But there’s other things to consider when looking at the back half of the 2018 schedule, so here are a few that I’ve listed out as the team prepares for November and December with a look ahead to 2019.Win All Of Their GamesObviously, this is priority number one for the Seahawks: they want to win the rest of their games, go 12-4, make the playoffs, be a hot team like they were in 2012 or 2015, and try to make some noise in the postseason. You may not want to hear that (it’s a funny thing how when morale is down many people want to keep it down and not get distracted by hope) but it is the reality that Seattle wants to win out and of course the best case scenario. And let’s say the Seahawks even lose their next two games and fall to 4-6 — at that point you’ll also start to hear this: “It’ll be better if they just lose out and get a higher pick!” This is also nonsense.Yes, it would be nice to add a blue chip draft prospect for the first time since maybe Bruce Irvin in 2012, if not Russell Okung and Earl Thomas in 2010, but think about how little that matters to Pete Carroll. It’s 2018. The Seahawks have won a lot of games in the Carroll era. And I’ve just listed off the only three players in that entire time who were taken in the top 25 by Seattle. They simply do not care about big name prospects and they’ve also found their greatest successes — Russell Wilson, Doug Baldwin, Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Bobby Wagner, etc — after the first round. If Seattle drops to 4-6, they’ll want to finish 10-6. If they fall to 5-8, they’ll want to finish 8-8.That’s just going to be in Carroll’s nature and it also helps the team in other ways, such as working to retain some of their impending free agents as well as attracting the low-key, third-tier free agent options who in recent years have chosen the Seahawks because they want to make the playoffs. If Seattle goes 6-10, that’s not attractive. If Seattle is 9-7, it’s not the most enticing thing in the world, but it says, “We’re still close.”The Seahawks goal in the next eight weeks is to win as many of those games as possible. Do not concern yourself with a draft next year that Seattle’s inevitably going to trade down in, unless what you want is to see Carroll fired, then I guess that losing out is probably what you want.Continue to Evaluate the Offensive Line for Plans in 2019Unforeseen injury aside, it certainly appears that Duane Brown http://www.seahawkscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-frank-clark-jersey , Justin Britt, and Germain Ifedi will be at their respective positions again in 2019. Some will ask, “Why Britt?” because Ethan Pocic and Joey Hunt are around and at some point the Seahawks may need to go cheaper, but Seattle doesn’t really save much by releasing Britt in 2019. It would have to be a Michael Bennett-type move. The guard positions are still in flux.J.R. Sweezy and D.J. Fluker are both on one-year contracts and unsigned for next season. Many are calling for Fluker to be extended immediately, but unfortunately a calf injury caused him to miss time on Sunday and could force him to miss more time ahead; that’s now seven games missed in 2017 and two games missed to open 2018, plus this. Is Fluker’s injury history (which goes back to his San Diego days, though he usually played through the pain) enough to give the team pause to extend him? That’s one thing to monitor closely in the coming weeks.Similarly they have to decide if they re-sign Sweezy, start Pocic, or go for a third option. If Fluker misses a game, it will give Pocic a second chance this season to prove he’s improving, which we have not yet seen from him.More David MooreHe had a career-high seven targets against the Chargers, leading to a career-worst day of two catches for 16 yards and he could quite make the plays he needed to when the team really needed a play to be made. That’s fine, he’s 23 and this attention is all new to him. All the more reason to keep feeding him the ball and seeing if this is indeed your triumvirate for next season.Does Mike Davis Need To Be Kept? The Seahawks drafted Rashaad Penny but their 1-2 punch is Chris Carson and Mike Davis. Well, Davis is a free agent in 2019 and Carson is injured yet again. Seattle needs to find a way to really know what they have in Penny, like is he a Christine Michael or is he a pre-injury Thomas Rawls? Does he deserve more opportunities and if Carson misses more games, will he be a liability? I don’t feel any sense of “Ok, here we go!” when Penny is on thefield right now, which is weird because I do think he’s immensely talented. Unfortunately it hasn’t translated into the types of runs we so often see from Carson and Davis. Can Punt and Kick Returns Be Any Better?Seriously, those units are just so bad.Is Either Tedric Thompson or Delano Hill a Starter? We’re finding this out anyway. The 2017 mid-round picks were both on the field at the same time yesterday and while Seattle’s defense didn’t get high marks for their performance, the Chargers offense didn’t score a single point in the second half of the game when Bradley McDougald was out. Thompson has had lows, but he’s definitely had some highs. At this point, I think it’s even safer to say that the Seahawks would have a lot more to hope for if they still had Earl Thomas and despite the bad blood between the two sides right now, I hardly think a reunion is out of the question. In fact, I don’t know that I see good reason at this point for Seattle to not entertain using the franchise tag on him. Even if he hates them for it, even if he holds out again, he’s one of the top-10 players in franchise history and they have the right to be able to at least try and get something in return for him, if not outright retain him. If the drop-off to Thompson ends up being that dramatic, then extension talks should still be on the table, though concerns about Thomas’s leg should be taken into account.Hill had the first extended action of his career and recorded three tackles, including one for a loss. If McDougald misses any starts, we’ll see what Hill can do for a whole game and go from there. With the upcoming short week (go to LA on Sunday Cheap Will Dissly Jersey , host the Green Bay Packers on Thursday), it may be that the Seahawks need to heavily rotate players in and out or outright rest some starters given what happened on Thursday last year. But Seattle should find out in the next eight weeks what they have in these two safeties or how urgent the need is to find a new starter in 2019.Extend Frank ClarkUnless they want to use the tag on Clark (notice the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions using the tag on their premier pass rushers: teams are more cautious with these players because the long-term price tag is so exorbitant and Clark is not quite at the “surely can’t miss level” yet, like some of his contemporaries), it’s inevitable that the Seahawks will extend him. Teams just so rarely find pass rushers who can get 12-15 sacks (Clark is on pace for 15) and they also tend to not let those guys go. They drafted him despite his off-field actions, why would they change their minds on him four years later when he hasn’t gotten in trouble and has produced at levels they have had a hard time finding players to produce at?Clark almost certainly signs a contract in December and I’d guess only Russell Wilson will have a higher salary on the team.Evaluate Other 2019 Free Agents and Their BackupsHow much is Justin Coleman worth to you?Is Shamar Stephen a player you want to keep starting at defensive tackle? (I’m guessing the answer is yes, he’s quietly on pace for four sacks and six QB hits.)Is this the end of K.J. Wright’s time in Seattle after eight seasons? And can Shaquem Griffin ever really be a contributor on defense?Plus these restricted free agents, who will require raises in order to be retained (per OvertheCap.com): Quinton Jefferson, J.D. McKissic, Branden Jackson, Joey Hunt, and George Fant. Week 6’s victory was nothing less than a Carrjacking in plain view. The Seattle Seahawks overwhelmed a bad team, for the second time in this short — but somehow already 3/8 complete — season. They looked good-to-great in all three phases. They dominated from the start. There were no catastrophic injuries. Are we sure this is the same team as Week 1?In a column that relies on identifying minor turning points and under-the-radar occurrences from the previous game, Seahawks-Oakland Raiders turns out to be something of a challenge. The game was as good as decided once Seattle found the end zone for the first time. Russell Wilson was good, the running game worked, the defensive line roamed at will in the backfield and all over an overmatched quarterback.Hint: It’s the last one that tells the bulk of our story. Anyway, today the swerving points should probably come from quite early in the game, when the game was an actual game.Frank and Friends come in like a wrecking ballI mean, what can you say to this? It’s the Raiders’ second drive, 29 seconds remain in the first quarter. They trail by just seven at this point.A fun thing to observe from a different angle: Clark’s successful effort to avoid the penalty officials like to hand out these days for daring to caress the quarterback. But as destructive as Clark was, and as much as he raised his stock with this single game —— it was how he and his D-line mates affected Jon Gruden’s playcalling that made the real difference. Derek Carr stopped throwing downfield. Once it became a two-possession game, he still didn’t. He finished the game with 23 completions. But...13 of those 23 were caught at or behind the line of scrimmage. Two of those 23 completions traveled more than five yards downfield. For godsakes, he only threw the ball more than 10 yards forward twice. The Raiders gave up on explosive plays. That’s the power of a pass rush overwhelming an offensive line, and makes the Tom Cable-led Seahawks victories over the Rams in 2012-2017 all the more impressive in retrospect.Carr was sacked six times, and twice more that won’t count because of Seattle penalties. He just didn’t have a chance. We would be remiss to leave out the role of Poona Ford, Branden Jackson, Quinton Jefferson, Nazair Jones, Jarran Reed, and Shamar Stephen. Clark didn’t wreck the Oakland offense himself. But he led what can only be described as a raid pillage. Which brings me to the next point...The DL rotation made a triumphant returnWhen Dion Jordan got hurt in the preseason, Tom Johnson got let go after Week 1 in a roster crunch gone bad, and Rasheem Green started missing time with an ankle injury Cheap Earl Thomas III Jersey , it was officially “Time To Fret About The Pass Rush.”Who was going to step up? Well, everybody. No wonder Clark looked fresh all game: he played only 29 snaps. Jackson led the team in snaps on the D-line, with 65 percent. No Seahawk D-lineman besides Jackson appeared in more than 60 percent of snaps — but then again, no lineman played fewer than 35 percent (Ford). In 2013, when the Seahawks featured front-line talent like Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril, plus a slew of accomplished veterans behind them like Chris Clemons and Brandon Mebane, a heavy rotation of bodies was Pete Carroll’s default setting. 13 Seahawks played on the D-line that year, and seven (7!) of them played between 481 and 600 snaps. You want to know why in the fourth quarter of the 19th game of the season, Avril was still fresh enough to get to Colin Kaepernick on this play?Because he hadn’t been run into the ground. It’s entirely possible we’re starting to see the same thing happen with the 2018 Seahawks. Of course it’s too early tell if Ford and Green will be future stars, but it’s certainly possible. It’s too early to tell if Jackson and Stephen will keep it up against better offensive lines, but we’ve seen weirder things happen. It’s dicey to try and predict if Jordan will make a full comeback in a career already full of comebacks. But if the Seahawks are going to rotate seven men on and off the line each game — to say nothing of Jacob Martin and Barkevious Mingo coming off the edge — then they’re going to give a lot of offensive linemen fits in the second halves of games.First drive, first touchdown since... whoaSeattle scored an opening-drive touchdown in the regular season for the first time since October. October of 2016. Probably you’d heard that they went 35 games in between such touchdowns. Everyone heard.Sunday’s drive was a leisurely 82-yard stroll, complete with conversions and runs and even a penalty that could’ve been deadly (Brandon Marshall’s false start on the OAK 1) but wasn’t.A couple of short runs on third and short kept the chains moving. But the key play was a reception by new addition Tyrone Swoopes on 3rd and 8, from the Raiders 25.The Seahawks would have still won on Sunday if they’d settled for a field goal here. But they got in the end zone in large part because Wilson found a player who wasn’t even on the active roster earlier that week. One of the things that made the 2010-2013 Seahawks so much fun to follow was their ability to pluck talent from the outer corners of the football world and make it work. Cast-offs, undersized and oversized players, undrafted dudes, reclamation projects, draft-day reaches — all had a place in Seattle. Pete Carroll knew how to get the most out of them. It was brilliant scouting and brilliant coaching.Hold that “was.”With the D-linemen listed above, John Schneider’s astute selections of Tre Flowers in the fifth-round this year and Chris Carson in the seventh last year, plus the very real emergence of David Moore as a receiving threat, the Seahawks are up to their old tricks — the tricks that turned them into medium-term Super Bowl contenders from 2012-16. When you find Ford, Moore, Swoopes and others in your back pocket like a crumpled 20 that went through the wash, you’re on the way to big things. Even if Seattle misses out on the playoffs this year (and they won’t, they’re on their way to 10 wins), a restocking of cheap young talent is well underway. If the Rams want their reign atop the division to last longer than two years, they should maybe look to the Northwest corner, where Schneider and Carroll are again doing Schneider and Carroll things.

Why it will be hard for the Seahawks to be terrible Russell Wilson. There’s your answer to the headline.Wilson has done enough at this point to prove himself as a year-in http://www.seattleseahawksteamonline.com/barkevious-mingo-jersey , year-out top-eight quarterback in the NFL. I say “top-eight” to really weed out anybody who has the worthless opinion that Wilson isn’t great while not going so far up the list to leave out folks who think he’s really good but not top-three. But Wilson has all the resume necessary to prove that he’s one of the absolute best at the position.Over the last three seasons, Wilson ranks fourth in touchdown passes, third in passer rating, fourth in adjusted yards per attempt, and does so while rushing for over 450 yards per year. Behind an offensive line that is the most clowned in the league. The argument for top-five is an easy one, but I’ll be generous to the doubters and say that at the very least, there aren’t more than seven quarterbacks in the NFL who are better. For me, once you get past Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers, it’s wide open between Wilson and another three or four guys. And these guys very rarely play on terrible teams; that’s sort of why these quarterbacks get paid on a different scale than every other position in the NFL.Since his first season as a starter in 2002, Brees has played in 16 seasons. Of these, he has posted six losing records: In 2003, he went 2-9 when things fell apart for the San Diego Chargers, and with the New Orleans Saints he’s had seasons of 7-9, 7-9, 7-9, and 7-8. In pretty much all of those 7-9 seasons, the Saints had historically bad defenses. And yet, they “only” went 7-9. That was the power of Drew Brees. The Seahawks may have lost a lot of name players on defense, but they still have Bobby Wagner, Frank Clark, K.J. Wright, and most likely, Earl Thomas. It would be surprising if they were bad, let alone historically bad.Looking for good quarterbacks who have been on bad teams in recent years, you won’t find many.Philip Rivers had another solid season in 2015 Authentic Rashaad Penny Jersey , throwing 29 touchdowns against 13 interceptions, but the Chargers went 4-12. This may be a “doomsday” worst case scenario for Wilson and the Seahawks, but it is rare. The Chargers went 5-11 the next season too and Rivers threw 33 touchdowns, but he also led the NFL in interceptions. In his 12-year career, Rivers has posted just one other losing season, going 7-9 in 2012.Since 2010, there have been just six other instances of a QB posting a rating of at least 90 while also losing 10 games:- Jameis Winston went 3-10 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year- Matt Schaub went 6-10 for the Houston Texans in 2010- Matt Ryan went 6-10 for the Atlanta Falcons in 2014- Eli Manning went 6-10 in both 2014 and 2015- Colin Kaepernick went 1-10 for the San Francisco 49ers in 2016Of these, only Ryan is on par with Wilson’s proven abilities. The Falcons also went 4-12 a year earlier (Ryan was just a touch under a 90 rating that season), so they did find a floor lower than what a top-tier quarterback can usually hit. But you won’t find a single notable player on Atlanta’s defense outside of Desmond Trufant, who was just beginning his career. And Mike Smith does not deserve the same credit for building a franchise and coaching up a young team that Pete Carroll does.Rodgers went 6-10 during his first season with the Green Bay Packers. Despite building a pretty poor roster for most of the five years, Rodgers has not posted a losing record. I can’t speak to what Seattle would look like without Wilson, if he got injured, and there’s no point in doing so either. The Seahawks would likely be terrible, as most teams without good quarterbacks are terrible. Green Bay is terrible without Rodgers. I know that Matt Cassel once helped the Patriots to 11-5, but I think they’d be much, much worse off this time around if Brady went away for any reason. Basically, if you think that the Seahawks are going to be the worst version of themselves with a healthy Wilson, I think you’re looking at a 6-10 team. And that’s me pushing and pulling in reasonable ways to see how bad that team could be, outside of a season where they just lose game after game by 6 points or less in heartbreaking fashion. In six seasons together, the worst job that Wilson and Carroll have done was 9-7. In the other five, they went to the postseason and won at least one game. Their losses over the last year do include Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril, Sheldon Richardson, Jimmy Graham, and Paul Richardson. But over their last seven games http://www.seattleseahawksteamonline.com/tre-flowers-jersey , without Sherman, Chancellor, and Avril, they went 3-4 and were quite close to 5-2. To be picking at the top of the draft, the Seahawks would need to win three games or less over the course of 16 games, but they managed to do that in their final seven without a full offseason of preparation to replace those stars like they’ve had in 2018.So how many “wins” or “losses” are four games of Avril, nine games of Sherman, Chancellor, plus full or near-full seasons of Bennett, Richardson, Richardson, and Graham really worth? Well, they aren’t quarterbacks like Wilson is, so it’s not nearly the same impact. Let me ask you this: How many games would the Seahawks have won last year if they hadn’t traded for Sheldon Richardson? Do you think they would’ve gone 9-7 still? 8-8? How much worse would it have gotten? Well, how much worse off do you think they are this year without Richardson, and instead getting back Nazair Jones, plus signing Tom Johnson and Shamar Stephen and Poona Ford? They traded Bennett, but what they’re losing is the 2018 version of Bennett (who is 32), not the 2013-2017 versions necessarily. And he could be as good as ever. But how many wins or losses is the 32-year-old Bennett worth vs Rasheem Green, increased playing time for Dion Jordan or Marcus Smith? A whole win? I don’t see the changes outside of Wilson being more dramatic than a couple of wins, and even in the case of what Seattle lost, it’s impossible to quantify what they will gain. The Seahawks didn’t replace Paul Richardson with a Christmas tree at wide receiver. It’s not from one Preach to one Zero. Tyler Lockett could end up playing better in Richardson’s absence. Brandon Marshall or someone else may provide some value and it could still live up to — or surpass — Richardson’s frankly-okay 2017 season.Let’s not forget that he had provided 599 yards over his first three seasons prior to 2017. Jaron Brown’s had 808 yards over the last three seasons. All that being said, I don’t know exactly how the current Seattle 53-man roster will stack up to the previous iteration. It could be worse. It might even likely be worse. The strength of schedule is a relative unknown and can change in a heartbeat. It may also be better. It could noticeably better immediately with Duane Brown at left tackle instead of Rees Odhiambo. I don’t really know, nobody does yet, not even a single preseason game has transpired. But here’s what I do know: franchise quarterbacks matter for a reason. If the Seahawks lose 14 games, I’m confident that it wouldn’t have been with Russell Wilson under center. If they lose 12 games, I’d be shocked if Wilson was healthy. If they lose 10 games www.seahawksfootballauthentics.com , then maybe the worst-case scenario with Wilson has gone down. But more likely than not, this is a .500 team looking for two close games to break in their favor, instead of two close games that go against them. This is not the worst team in the NFL, or close to it.Not as long as Wilson is taking the snaps. Last week, five of the Seattle Seahawks’ biggest positions of focus this offseason were identified here. Now, we’ll start identifying which players at those positions the Seahawks could target in free agency. The biggest focus for Seattle at EDGE is retaining their own premier pass rusher, Frank Clark. Beyond Clark, there’s a void. Dion Jordan is a free agent and was a non-factor in 2018, while counting on one of Jacob Martin or Rasheem Green to make a giant step forward in their sophomore season would be a dangerous game to play. The Seahawks have the cap space to go out and acquire another solid, 8-10+ sack pass rusher, while retaining Clark. In fact, they might even add two in free agency; after all, at Seattle’s peak, they had a quartet of Chris Clemons, Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett and Bruce Irvin to depend on. Who might they target?Ezekiel AnsahThe Seahawks’ defense of 2013 is unlikely to be replicated, if only, because of the incredible depth that team had. Signing Bennett for $4.5M on a one-year deal was a coup, as was the two-year deal given to Avril. However, if we operate under the assumption Seattle will try to double dip on pass rushers again, Ansah could be the Bennett of 2019, coming in on a one-year deal. Totaling 30 sacks in his first three seasons in the league, Ansah seemed well on his way to a major payday. His fourth season, however, saw him take a large step backwards, as Ansah posted just two sacks in 13 starts. Playing under the fifth-year option in 2017, Ansah seemed to reset his value with a 12 sack season. The Lions didn’t give him a chance to test his market Seattle Seahawks T-Shirt , though, as they placed the franchise tag on him. Ansah couldn’t replicate his bounce back season of 2017 in 2018, as the now 29-year-old defensive end started just two games, collecting four sacks. Now, Ansah is heading towards his age-30 season without a long-term deal, nor the leverage to negotiate a lucrative one. He may choose to sign a one-year deal on a new team, in an effort to again reset his market value. Both Bennett and Avril parlayed short deals into large paydays, and Ansah could follow suit. Approximate deal: The closest comparison we have to Ansah’s situation from last offseason was Muhammad Wilkerson—an interior lineman rather than an EDGE—who signed a one-year, $5M deal in an attempt to reset his value following his release from the Jets. There’s a higher premium on EDGEs, and Ansah doesn’t come with the headaches that Wilkerson brought. A one-year deal around $8M could get Ansah in the building. Brandon GrahamOne of the Eagles’ Super Bowl heroes will finally hit free agency, after several years of being a rumored cap causality. Graham saw a four-year deal worth $6.5M APY through to the end, and will hit the open market entering his age-31 season, coming off a four sack campaign.Graham has never hit double-digit sacks in his career (the closest he came was 9.5 sacks in 2017), however Graham’s contributions go well beyond counting stats. He’s a solid run defender, disciplined on the edge—if both Graham and Ansah were signed by the Seahawks, it would likely be Graham starting on early downs, not Ansah. It wouldn’t be a particularly flashy signing, but Graham would be a tremendously steadying presence for Seattle.Approximate deal: A good comparison in terms of situation and role for Graham would be Adrian Clayborn, who signed a two-year, $10M deal ($5.5M guaranteed) with the Patriots in 2018. Clayborn has never hit double-digit sacks—the closest he came was 9.5 in 2017. Graham’s role, age and production line up with Clayborn’s, and his new deal should as well. Bruce IrvinThe former Seahawk was potentially going to return to Seattle following his mid-season release from the Raiders, but his hometown Falcons came calling. Now, Irvin hits free agency. While staying with Atlanta may be preferred, one would imagine the Seahawks and Ken Norton Jr. would be a close second. Irvin doesn’t have the legs to play SAM linebacker in Pete Carroll’s defense anymore, but as a rotational rusher, he would be valuable. At the time of his release from Oakland Seattle Seahawks Hats , Irvin was 33rd in the NFL in pass rush win percentage from the edge. Managing his snaps and allowing him to focus strictly on rushing the passer is the best way to maximize him at this point in his career. Approximate deal: Irvin has gotten his big contract already, and is likely looking at a number of one- and two-year deals from here on out. A two-year deal around $5M total, with guarantees in the first season, could work for both player and team. Pernell McPheeOnce upon a time, McPhee represented the Ravens’ hemorrhaging of talent following Joe Flacco’s extension and a Super Bowl victory. McPhee was a terrific rotational rusher, with 7.5 sacks in his final season in Baltimore during the 2014 season. In his first season with the Bears in 2015, McPhee posted six sacks, continuing on as a valuable sub-package rusher. His output slowly dropped during his final two seasons in Chicago, and it bottomed out in 2018, his one and only season in Washington: Three tackles for loss, zero sacks. The majority of McPhee’s time has come as a linebacker in a system with three down linemen, however, he absolutely possesses the build and functional strength needed to play with his hand in the ground. Approximate deal: McPhee, like Irvin, will likely be playing on short-term deals for the remainder of his career. A one- or two-year deal, with guarantees restricted to the first year, would be a wise signing for Seattle. An average per year in the $2M-$2.5M range would be more than palatable. The free agent class of EDGEs is top heavy, with all the headliners—Clark, DeMarcus Lawrence, Jadeveon Clowney and Trey Flowers—almost certain to re-sign with their current teams. A host of highly intriguing pass rushers are on expiring deals as well—Dee Ford, Shaquil Barrett and Preston Smith—but are restricted to stand-up roles in a 3-4 defense. A handful of rotational rushers should hit the market, but the lack of blue chip talent available means EDGE should remain the Seahawks’ biggest priority in the draft.

In case you missed it Cheap Brandon Copeland Jersey , the Jets lost in Jacksonville today to the Jaguars 31-12. As you might deduct from the score, the game was a thorough domination. This game exposed so many systematic problems with this team that I am going to forego the normal recap where I divide individual performances into “The Good” and “The Bad.” I think this game requires a bigger discussion of the structural issues we saw.A deficit of talentI think there are issues with the coaching on this team, and we will get to them later in this recap. I think any honest assessment of this game, however, must acknowledge that today’s result was based on the talent gap between the two teams. The Jets aren’t even close in talent to the Jaguars. That was particularly true when the New York offense took the field against the Jacksonville defense. The Jaguars might have the most talented defense in the NFL. The Jets have only a handful of players who would see regular playing time if they played for one of the league’s top offensive units. When the schedule came out, any reasonable observer would have penciled this game in as a loss. Sure, anything can happen. That’s why they play the games. But this was not a game anybody could have expected the Jets to win purely based on talent. That was the primary reason the Jets lost this game.Coverage woesIt’s one thing for an untalented Jets offense with a rookie quarterback to look hopeless against a fearsome Jacksonville defense.Far more troublesome is how inept the Jets pass defense looked. At one point in this game, the FOX announcers noted that Blake Bortles was red hot, completing 15 of his first 16 passes. I did a double take. I struggled to come up with a difficult tight window throw he made.On his completions, it seemed like there was seldom a Jets defender within the same zip code of one of his receivers. Until we get the all 22 film http://www.jetscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-trumaine-johnson-jersey , it will be impossible to fully diagnose the problems, but the replay angles showed zone defenders not getting enough depth, not communicating, and outright busting their assignments. This team has made enormous investments on the defensive side of the ball. The Jets have allocated the second most cap space in the league to the cornerback position and two recent early Draft picks. It isn’t just that this defense is supposed to be based on its ability to cover. Things just aren’t going to work for this team unless the defense plays great football. There isn’t enough talent on offense to play the game in catch up mode. The team’s offensive line struggles enough when the Jets don’t have to telegraph the pass and allow the opposition’s pass rushers to pin back their ears and get up field. You can point to turnovers all you want, but they lose much of their relevance when the Jets are already hopelessly behind in the game. This defense can’t allow the opposition to score on all of its first half possessions. Few teams are going to win games when their defense stakes the opponent to a 16-0 lead. That goes double for a team like the Jets which is supposed to be built on a stout defense. The Jets are supposed to be built on their coverage, but this team cannot seem to execute basic coverages right now. This didn’t start against the Jaguars either. There were frequent busts last week in Cleveland. The Browns would have put up over 30 points had Tyrod Taylor not thrown wildly inaccurately to wide open receivers. The Jets also had a coverage bust on a critical third down play against Miami two weeks ago.If this team covers like this, it’s going to be a rough season.Darnold’s woesDiscussion of any young quarterback’s struggles frequently becomes a false battle of themes that are not mutually exclusive. There’s no way around the fact this was a second consecutive ghastly performance by Sam Darnold. He completed half of his attempts and averaged under 5 yards per attempts. I counted four open deep receivers he missed. Based on the quality of his decision-making and throws, he easily could have had 5 interceptions. It is frankly a miracle that he ended the game with zero.Somebody looking at this from a glass half full perspective would probably note that overcoming this type of adversity can make Darnold stronger. Almost every quarterback, no matter how great, has at least one rough stretch in his career where it feels like he can’t do much right. For some of them Cheap Spencer Long Jersey , it comes years into their career. Others experience it early. There was a school of thought that the Jets should keep Darnold on the bench early because of how daunting the schedule looked. I was skeptical of the idea for the reason I mentioned above. You can’t protect a quarterback from adversity for his entire career. In many ways the difference between the guys who make it from those who don’t is their ability to cope with and overcome adversity. If failure in his first four games destroys Sam Darnold mentally for the rest of his career, I have news for you. He was never going to make it anyway. One debate will rage on. Does Sam Darnold need to play better, or have the Jets failed to adequately support him? That brings us back to the false battle of themes that aren’t mutually exclusive. It is not an either/or proposition. Both are true. The Jets can’t win with Darnold sailing deep throws and making bad decisions. With that said, it is pretty clear that the Jets have put too much of the playmaking load on a 21 year old rookie. I counted four successful passing plays that were the result of Darnold doing something special. Maybe you can expect a few more of them out of a rookie, but you can’t have your entire offense’s success based on the rookie making special plays all game long.Bilal Powell and Quincy Enunwa are the only semi-consistent playmakers who can make plays for this team on offense that don’t require Darnold to navigate a crumbling pocket, scan the field, and throw an accurate tight window pass. And schematically I haven’t seen many designs that give Darnold an easy path to a chunk of yards within a play. Nor have I seen much of an attempt to create favorable mismatches to the limited extent the Jets can since Week 1.Uninspired coachingAre people being fair when they say coaching is the biggest problem on this team? I don’t think so.Did Todd Bowles cost the Jets the game when he kicked a field goal down 22 in the fourth quarter or punted with around 5:00 left down 13? No, the game was long lost at those points. Are these decisions major marks against Bowles? You bet they are. These decisions might not have been the difference between victory and defeat in this game, but in future tight games Bowles will have to make similar decisions that will carry great importance. In neglecting to go for it on those two fourth down plays, Bowles reduced whatever slim chance his team had of a miracle that could have been sparked by a touchdown. The numbers show that the correct play is generally to be aggressive on fourth down. Down multiple scores in the fourth quarter http://www.jetscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-morris-claiborne-jersey , it should be a no brainer. Bowles’ decisions showed that he either is unaware of the best practices of game management or simply doesn’t care about them. It also shows a lack of growth since he made similarly poor choices during losses in each of the last two seasons. The team’s tendency to take undisciplined and boneheaded penalties also continued. Quincy Enunwa took a delay of game after spiking a football after the catch with the Jets trailing by 22 points. Yes, the player is at blame, but at some point it reflects on the coaching when the team keeps committing such stupid penalties.Teddy talkOne talking point I am expecting to hear incessantly with Darnold struggling is that the Jets made a mistake trading Teddy Bridgewater. It has gotten to the point where part of me wishes the Jets hadn’t traded Bridgewater just so people would see the extent to which he would struggle within such a shabby infrastructure. These seems to be a disconnect between the point where Bridgewater actually is in his career versus the point some people believe Bridgewater is in his career.Teddy Bridgewater, like Sam Darnold, is a player with some impressive tools who might one day become a franchise quarterback. He is not currently an elite franchise quarterback in the mold of Aaron Rodgers. The last time he started a full season, he was at the helm of a Vikings offense that had almost all of the same structural problems the Jets have right now. There was one difference. He was bolstered by the last great Adrian Peterson season. Bridgewater’s efficiency numbers were middling. If you think Bridgewater would be more productive with many of the same problems, no Peterson, and two years of rust to shake off, we will need to agree to disagree.Lest you blame Todd Bowles for all of the Jets’ problems......just consider that Mike Maccagnan’s two biggest free agent additions this year were supposed to stabilize important units on the team. They were Trumaine Johnson and Spencer Long. Not only are the cornerbacks and offensive line struggling, Johnson and Long are playing poor football Cheap Jamal Adams Jersey , well below the value they are being paid. The Jets can at least escape Long’s deal easily after the season if things don’t turn around. The Jets are stuck with Johnson for the a bare minimum of two years and even then would experience a lot of salary cap pain from exiting that deal early.By the way...Powell and Enunwa...those two semi-consistent playmakers the Jets have...both brought to the Jets before Mike Maccagnan arrived.Jets-Redskins joint training camp practice news and live updates 8/14 The Jets and the Redskins will conduct their third and final joint practice of training camp today in Richmond, Virginia. The teams will then compete Thursday in the second preseason game of 2018.After a heated Sunday practice that saw one major fight and a couple of other minor scuffles, things were reportedly more orderly on Monday. Neither head coach seemed particularly thrilled about Sunday’s events so they presumably had a word with their respective teams. Monday was reportedly a rough day for the Jets defense, but Sam Darnold continued showing good things. Darnold has been taking a lot of first team reps, and it appears he will get a chance to start on Thursday. The GGN Twitter widget is embedded below to provide you with updates from the day in Richmond. It will refresh automatically with live updates on the events from practice and the interviews that come later. The Jets are making CEO Chris Johnson and general manager Mike Maccagnan available to the media today. It sounds like the two will speak separately. Johnson is scheduled to speak at 2:00 p.m. Eastern while Maccagnan is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Eastern. These things frequently start late www.jetsauthorizedshops.com , though. The topics of discussion will likely be the firing of Todd Bowles, the decision to keep Maccagnan, and the future of the franchise including the coaching search and the offseason. We probably won’t hear a ton of substance. We seldom do at these events. The Jets will do their best to treat Bowles with dignity since there is no reason to publicly trash him on his way out the door. They also will not try to tip their hand on their upcoming plans. Maybe they will let something interesting slip New York Jets Womens T-Shirt , though. You can leave your thoughts on the press conference as it happens below.A Twitter List by GangGreenNation The Cleveland Browns have signed cornerback Juston Burris off of the New York Jets practice squad. In a corresponding move the Jets have re-signed running back De’Angelo Henderson to the practice squad. This represents the third time this season the Jets have signed Henderson to the practice squad.De’Angelo Henderson is a 26 year old (November 24), 5’ 7”, 210 pound back out of Coastal Carolina University. Henderson was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 203rd overall pick in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL draft New York Jets Hats , the selection immediately preceding the Jets selection of cornerback Derrick Jones. Henderson impressed the Broncos in his rookie year, but played sparingly. In five games Henderson amassed seven rushes for 13 yards and two receptions for 36 yards and one touchdown. The Broncos added two impressive rookie running backs in 2018 in Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay, making Henderson expendable. He was cut by the Broncos in September and the Jets signed Henderson to the practice squad. At Coastal Carolina Henderson was a force to be reckoned with. In four years Henderson put up 4 New York Jets Womens Hoodie ,635 rushing yards on 721 carries, good for a 6.4 yard average, and 58 touchdowns. Henderson also caught 97 passes for 921 yards and six touchdowns. In his senior year Henderson had only one out of nine games in which he failed to produce at least one play from scrimmage of 20 or more yards. Henderson is fast Womens Customized New York Jets Jerseys , with 4.48 speed, shifty and built low to the ground with excellent leverage.

The Jacksonville Jaguars host the Pittsburgh Steelers in anticipation of their sixth loss in a row this season.Follow along with us as we bring you coverage throughout the day and in the post-game and try not to cry as grown men.Live Blog4:13 PM: Ben runs in from two yards out. Unfingbelievable. Steelers win Womens Austin Seferian-Jenkins Jersey , 20-16.4:05 PM: The Steelers, after scoring another touchdown have moved into the Jags one yard line with the Jags offense doing nothing for a quarter and a half. Im afraid the Jags have blew a huge opportunity.3:42 PM: After the Jaguars get moved out of field goal range thanks to a pair of Bortles self-sacks, the defense takes over and after a sack by Yannick Ngakoue forces a 3rd & 18, then a 4th & 8, the Jags defense holds pat and gets the Steelers off the field with 7 minutes left in the game. Jags lead 16-6.3:31 PM: The Jaguars go three and out and give it back to the Steelers, who are unable to doanything with it themselves, concluding with a Calais Campbell sack on Roethlisberger on 3rd down.3:19 PM: Was only a matter of time, but Ben finds Brown downfield on what appeared to be a broken coverage as Brown was wide open by 20 yards. The Steelers go for two and fail to convert. Jags lead 16-6.3:12 PM: TOUCHDOWN! The Jaguars once again use the running game and two big gains on screen passes to Fournette to get them inside the Steelers 5 yard line, and 27 finishes it off with a dive into the end zone from about the 3 yard line, much like last year in Pittsburgh. The play goes under review but it’s clear Fournette broke the plane with the ball in hand. Jaguars now lead 16-0 with 2:09 left in the 3rd.3:03 PM: The Steelers get the help of the referees thanks to two absolute BS calls against the Jaguars costing them 30 yards, allowing Pittsburgh into the Jags red zone. Then Ramsey makes the most impressive interception you’ll see this season while covering Brown in the end zone. Jaguars take over at their 20. WOW.2:53 PM: Despite good running by Fournette, the Jags do nothing with their first possession of the second half, and nearly fumble away on TJ Watt’s strip of Bortles. The Jaguars simply cannot pass today and it’s the only reason they’re not running away with this game.2:48 PM: Pittsburgh opens up half number two, and quickly goes three and out after the defense forces Ben to throw it away on 3rd & 6 thanks to pressure and great coverage. Jags take over inside their 30.2:30 PM: The Jaguars blow an opportunity to get points before the half off the Church interception, because Blake Bortles couldn’t hit the ocean from the pier. The defense turns around and keeps the Steelers last ditch attempt before the half from doing anything. Jags lead 9-0 at half time.2:21 PM: Jags peter out on a real questionable series of play calls and give the Steelers the ball back....only for Barry Church to pick off Roethlisberger inside Steelers territory. My goodness.2:17 PM: The Jaguars get the Steelers off the field after they convert their first 3rd down of the game...yes, you read that right. Jags take over at their 20 with 1:41 left in the half.2:09 PM: A couple of holding calls kill strong runs by Fournette and Hyde, but they make it into field goal range yet again http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline.com/malik-jackson-jersey , and Lambo yet again connects. 9-0 Jaguars, with 3:37 left in the first half.1:59 PM: Jalen Ramsey picks off Roethlisberger on one of the best plays of this season for any Jaguar player, because of course! Jaguars take over with full momentum inside the Steelers 40 yard line.1:54 PM: After a couple of great runs by Fournette and Carlos Hyde, the Jags get into Steelers territory but have to yet again settle for a Lambo field goal, this time from 38 yards out. Jaguars extend their lead to 6-0. Big stat thus far, the Jaguars have rushed for 120 yards today and we aren’t halfway through the second quarter.1:47 PM: Jags defense forces their third straight three and out, as Ramsey breaks up a pass intended for Antonio Brown on 3rd & 11, with great coverage. Dede Westbrook returns the punt to about midfield, 3-0 Jags.1:42 PM: A holding call on Tyler Shatley kills the drive, and the Jags get enough on a 3rd down draw to Yeldon to give Lambo a shorter field goal, which he hits from 48 yards out. Jags lead 3-0 just starting the 2nd quarter, following an eleven minute drive.1:37 PM: The first quarter comes to an end, with the Jaguars driving after starting from their own 5 yard line. The three-headed monster of Fournette, Yeldon, and Hyde has finally started producing this drive. Unfortunately, AJ Cann has limped off at the end of the quarter, Chris Reed replaces him. 0-0 tie.1:25 PM: Jags force another three and out http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline.com/brandon-linder-jersey , and the Steelers drop two passes short of the marker on consecutive downs. A story to watch thus far, Malik Jackson has been in on just one snap and did not start for the first time in 99 games for his career. Jags take over at their own 5 yard line following the punt.1:18 PM: Jags go three and out. Wash, rinse, repeat.1:15 PM: The Jaguars defense stiffens up on a 3rd & 1, stuffing Ben Roethlisberger on a sneak attempt and forcing a three and out.1:06 PM: Jaguars get a first down conversion from Donte Moncrief, before going run, run, incomplete, punt. Get used to that. Steelers take over at their 20 after Cooke punts it into the end zone.1:02 PM: Steelers win the toss and defer. Jags offense will give it the old college try, first.12:33 PM: Yeah, it’s going to be one of those days, folks..12:31 PM: As expected, the local Steelers booster clubs have made their presence felt at The Bank today.11:41 AM: Here’s the inactive list. AJ Bouye returns, and Marcel Dareus and AJ Cann will play after being Questionable on Friday. Also, a one-eyed meerkat starts at left tackle..I mean Ereck Flowers.11:40 AM: Good morning, I guess. The Jaguars already made news today as Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Jaguars would consider trading Jalen Ramsey this off-season. How’s your day going? Anyway, they will play this game today. Pray to your spiritual higher power of choice that the Steelers don’t hang 50 on us.Jaguars vs. Jets final score: 8 Jacksonville players who stood out in 31-12 win The Jacksonville Jaguars just beat down the lowly New York Jets by a score of 31-12. It was a massive blowout that wasn’t as close as the box score indicates — even if the box score indicated a 19-point win by the Good Guys.Who stood out in the Week 4 matchup? Let’s see who made the list!1. Blake BortlesCredit where credit is due. Good Blake was in the stadium today and my God did this team need him. Leonard Fournette left with a hamstring injury in the second quarter along with Brandon Linder and although T.J. Yeldon was filling in well http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline.com/josh-lambo-jersey , if Blake wasn’t able to find receivers the Jets defense was going to clamp down on our running game. Blake had probably his most efficient game in his career — completing 77 percent of his passes, throwing for a career-high 388 yards, and had 10.2 yards per pass attempt. He completed passes to 10 different receivers and was mistake-free except for a tipped pass that led to an interception. He was masterful today and if he can keep this up there is no team in the NFL that can beat them.2. Dede WestbrookExcept for a fumble late in the game, Westbrook lived up to the draft day hype of a first round talent that fell due to off-the-field problems. He caught nine of 13 targets for 130 yards, including this beauty where he absolutely exposed Jamal Adams and the Jets secondary.Straight out of Madden.3. Donte MoncriefThe newly signed Moncrief caught all five targets thrown his way, including a beauty of a Bortles pass along the right sideline. It’s his first 100-yard game with the Jaguars.4. T.J. Yeldon100 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. He filled in well partly because Blake was on fire today but also partly because, well, he’s getting better. Leonard doesn’t have to rush back from his hamstring injury because Yeldon has shown himself to be a more-than-capable backup in two of the Jaguars’ three wins so far this season.5. Marcell DareusAlong with Calais Campbell, he was responsible for the first Jaguars safety since 2014.Three tackles on a day without a lot of tackles by this defense. He’s such a good rotational player and a perfect fit for Todd Wash’s scheme.6. Tashaun GipsonExcept for a needless taunting penalty, Gipson has played lights out through four games this season. The Jaguars are near the top of the league in terms of preventing big plays and Gipson’s presence at center field is a big reason why.7. Yannick NgakoueHe finally got his first sack of the season so now we can stop talking about it.Also, make sure to watch how Taven Bryan crushes the left guard and helps collapse the pocket on this play. A big reason Calais Campbell has played so well through the first quarter of the season is because of Bryan’s ability to spell him and still produce.8. Barry ChurchAlong with Gipson, Church has been playing at a Pro Bowl level. Today he had three tackles and a big sack on third down and several big stops in coverage.Honorable MentionLogan Cooke had three of his four punts downed inside the 20-yard line for a 46.3 punting average, but it was his punt downed at the two-yard line that made the safety possible by the Jaguars defense.
